Description
Canon CN-E EF mount prime lens with Peli Case including 24, 50, and 85mm 4K digital cinema lenses (CN-E24mm, CN-E50mm, CN-E85mm). Like their wide-angle and telephoto cinema zoom lens co-stars, Canon’s new CN-E24mm T1.5 L F, CN-E50mm T1.3 L F and CN-E85mm T1.3 L F cinema lenses deliver 4K optical performance. The tree lenses, designed for use with EF mounts, are compatible with not only industry-standard Super 35 mm-equivalent cameras, but also 35 mm full-frame, APS-H and APS-C sensor sizes. The five lenses incorporate anomalous dispersion glass and large-diameter aspherical lenses for high resolution imaging throughout the frame, and features a newly designed 11-blade aperture diaphragm for gentle, attractive blurring.
With focus and iris markings that are easily visible from behind the camera, Canon’s five new fixed-focal-length lenses support convenient film-style operation and, offering a focus rotation angle of approximately 300 degrees, facilitate precise focusing performance.

CN-E35mm T1.5L F
Intended for the working professional, whether on the move, in studio set-ups, or closed environments where space is at a premium, the CN-E35mm T1.5L F lens is designed for performance, offering a flattering wide-angle perspective with exceptional low-light capability.
The CN-E35mm T1.5L F lens offers a compelling mix of exceptional 4K (4096×2160 pixels) optical performance along with widespread compatibility with cameras – from industry-standard Super 35mm-equivalent bodies to 35mm full-frame, APS-H and APS-C sensor size models.
Thanks to its 4K optical ability, Canon’s legendary EF mount and widespread camera compatibility, this lens will appeal to a wide range of demanding filmmakers looking for speed as well as lightness. From documentary and broadcast professionals to movie and commercial directors, this lens fits neatly into Canon’s range of Cinema primes.
Anomalous Dispersion Glass
To eliminate chromatic aberration the CN-E35mm T1.5L F lens employs anomalous dispersion (AD) glass. When light passes through a lens, it refracts (bends). It also breaks up into its constituent colours, just like light passing through a prism. The lower the refractive index of the lens material, the less it bends and the sharper it can be focused. Similarly, the lower the dispersion ratio, the less the light is broken up, which makes it easier to correct chromatic aberration. AD glass is similar to fluorite in that it features a low refractive index and low dispersion, performing significantly better than ordinary optical glass. AD glass has enabled Canon to provide lenses with superior performance at a lower cost.
Large Aspherical Lenses
Within the optical construction of the lens, large aspherical elements are used to reduce distortion and deliver unrivalled optical performance. In the early days, all lenses were spherical – they are the easiest lens shapes to make, but are not best suited to rendering a sharp image as they cannot make parallel rays of light converge at the same point. This causes a problem called spherical aberration. Canon designers discovered that an aspherical (non-spherical) lens shape would eliminate these spherical aberrations, because the curvature of the lens could be used to converge the light rays to a single point.
CN-E50mm T1.3L F
The CN-E50mm T1.3L F lens offers a potent combination of exceptional 4K (4096×2160 pixels) optical performance with widespread compatibility with cameras – from industry-standard Super 35mm-equivalent cameras to 35mm full-frame, APS-H and APS-C sensor size models.
The 4K optical ability, EF mount and the widespread camera compatibility will appeal to a wide spectrum of demanding professional filmmakers – from broadcast professionals to movie directors, directors of photography to documentary makers, and commercial makers to creative industry professionals.
The CN-E50mm T1.3L F supports standard manual and electronic industry accessories and matte boxes, and has a unified front lens diameter and uniform gear positions, thus eliminating the need for adjustments when switching lenses.
The CN-E50mm lens also uses anomalous dispersion glass and large aspherical lenses.
